The launch The start

After
the rowing is over and the presentations are made, there is time for relaxation
and to discuss the days events at a local pub, or at the local campsite. The
social side of the club continues long after the rowing season is over.
Throughout the winter there are various quiz nights, barbeques, black tie events, Christmas/New Year and birthday get togethers. |

There is also regular maintenance on the gigs between Christmas and the start of the season. Pilot Gig racing is a team sport, so during the rowing season, you get to make new friends within the club, and in other clubs across the Southwest.General and Annual Meetings are usually held in the Boringdon Arms or the New Inn, both are in Turnchapel.

| If you
were about to select a fun, competitive sport, possibly involving all the family,
would your thoughts be immediately drawn to racing a Pilot Gig? IT
SHOULD BE!
